I'm a multi-disciplinary graphic designer & photographer proficient in creating brand identity assets and transforming marketing objectives into compelling, cohesive visual materials. An outside of the box thinker with almost two decades of web and print graphics experience, my speciality includes promotional and marketing materials such as corporate identity packages, posters, flyers, infographics, press kits, booklets, brochures, banners, and signage that communicates clients’ messages. Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, majority Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator, I pay attention to current industry design standards and observe best practices of layout and typography.
Furthermore, I have a solid background in front office operations with a proven track record of exceptional customer service in fast-paced environments. I’m skilled in managing high-pressure scenarios with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Collaborative and detail-oriented, I have a friendly, courteous demeanor equipped with patience and a genuine supportive nature. My journey in hotel hospitality has been fueled by my experience in freelance: comfortability in customer service, comprehending client’s desires, and commitment to exceed their expectations.
One day I picked up a camera and learned photography as a graphic designer after almost a decade experience performing photo edits and manipulation for marketing purposes. I gravitated towards event, portrait and lifestyle photography largely because of my solid “people skills”. In 2017, I leased a creative hub and photo studio in my hometown Jamaica, Queens to provide affordable, quality creative services to a underserved, budding community of entrepreneurs and small business owners. Currently I mentor a college undergrad who takes a liking to photography, graphic design, and community activism.
I am passionate about design and its role in shaping the world around me, and I embrace challenges and learn from every situation. The art of telling a story with words, illustrations and pictures inspires me. I strive to create meaningful work, through my aesthetic, and enjoy the process of creating. Working with others and bouncing ideas off of one another, as well as working well on my own are both equal attributes of mine. From concept to completion, I embrace helping to shape a project from start to finish and invoking enthusiasm along the way.
